C.L.A.W. robot A.K.A. leg/wheel hybrid robot
this is an idea i had a few years ago and did try to make but the idea failed horribly and i gave up. a few weeks ago i came back to the idea with an open mind. i ended up redesigning the chasis and making it about twice the origional size but it works perfectly now.
the legs are a modified theo jansen design and the front is the traditional ackerman(car-type) steering system
diy mini segway model
printed on a 3d printer
this is a miniature segway x2 i made last year in my IED class on autodesk inventor and printed out with a 3d printer. i then painted and glued it together with model car supplies.
diy blu-ray laser
i have been dying to make one of these for the past couple years but just never got around to it. it is a 100ma blu-ray laser diode driven by a rkstr microdriver.
diy tornado machine
this was one of my favorite projects from this summer. its a 2 foot tall tornado machine and produces a good looking vortex. its also a pretty snazzy lookin peace of furniture if i do say so myself ;)
cushioned armchair for segway
in this photo the cushioning for the trailer/footrest hadnt been added yet
in a shopping area about a mile from my house they have a movie night every thursday in the summer. i figured i could glide on up there every thursday and enjoy the move. however i didnt really want to bring an armchair with me so i decided to throw this together
my homemade delta robot
ahhhh the summer.... i got bored, so i decided to make my first robot :D
this is what is called a delta/parallel robot. they are commonly used in industrial applications such as manufacturing and packaging. this one is controlled by an arduino programmed in c++ it uses 3 futuba s3003 servos and an electromagnet to pick up ball bearings
homemade tesla coil
this doubles as a jacobs ladder but i mainly keep it set-up like this
for the five people that dont already know, a tesla coil is a type of air core transformer similar to the ones used to charge electric toothbrushes except these do not work off of magnetic induction but rather the resonance of the machine. this one can amplify your standard 120 volt ac household power supply up to an astounding 200,000 volts ac. capable of creating a starting arc of about 3 inches and definantly enough to kill you.
arm mounted flamethrower
this is my recreation of jareds pyro-system. and i have to say it is a pretty cool project
a mechanical bat model i made. one of my earliest creations
wii controlled lego dog:
built with lego mindstorms and controlled with glove-pie and bricx cc
